Well, she obviously doesn’t realize that “ladies=men” is the foundational, essential feminist statement.
And she’s not alone in that.

Well, the foundation is women = men, not ladies = men — keep your parallel constructions actually parallel! (“ladies” are only certain, nice women.)
I suspect she thinks being “kind” is not criticizing her. Telling someone they’re wrong, ignorant and need to educate themselves is mean, no matter how kindly it’s said. And if the delivery of criticism is the tiniest bit rude, well then, that just means you’re right by default!

Yeah! They don’t need feminism bc they aren’t personally being oppressed. To Hell with the other 6.9 billion women in the rest of the developing world.
I guess the irony of them not needing the very thing that allows them to have their cushy, westernized lives and a platform with which to disparage it, totally escapes them.

I was using her wording because she obviously does not believe that women are to be inferior to men, but rather are to be equal. And this is the basic feminist statement, which she obviously believes yet doesn’t know is feminist.
Objecting to her wording, while legit, I thought would defect from the bigger point. She’s a feminist but “doesn’t need feminism”.

That penultimate line isn’t an argument against feminism any more than “my appendix is perfectly healthy” is an argument against appendectomies.
I wonder if it’s intended as such.
