In their 2010 song Miracles, the Insane Clown Posse had the lyric “Fucking magnets, how do they work?”. That line has since become an internet meme. They also sang that they did not want to talk to any scientist because scientists lie.
In a speech in Iowa on Friday, serial sex abuser Donald Trump (SSAT) reveals his knowledge of magnets, that pouring water over them destroys them.

At least the Insane Clown Posse merely stated their ignorance about how magnets work. SSAT thinks he understands magnets but what he ‘knows’ is wrong, which is worse. As the old saying goes, “It isn’t what we don’t know that gives us trouble, it’s what we know that ain’t so.”
And why does SSAT think that John Deere, the company that makes tractors, has anything to do with magnetic elevators used on aircraft carriers? See here for more context.

This reminded people of Herschel Walker, the losing SSAT-endorsed senate candidate for Georgia, who gave a rambling speech about how bad air from China was coming over and replacing the good air that we have here. Is Walker now SSAT’s speechwriter?

Trump is remarkably stupid, and this is a good example of it.
He is referring to the Gerald Ford’s electromagnetic launch catapult, which is new tech replacing the old Nimitz-style steam catapults. Apparently the steam system had one setting: “full power” and it was hard on the airframes of the very expensive planes. The new system is supposed to provide a tailored power curve for each aircraft, and its a complex hardware/software problem instead of being a matter of cables and pistons.
At the same time Trump confused the catapult (electromagnetic) with the elevators designed to bring planes and ammo to the deck from the hangar under it. That’s hydraulic/electric and also had problems to the extent that it was not completely assembled when the Ford was launched.
Trump does not understand any of what he says -- he just jabbers a few words, like a parrot. Remember when he thought stealth aircraft were literally invisible? Basically all he understands is golf and all he pays attention to is himself. His inner world must be a Kafkaesque nightmare.

Air pollution in our home state of California is an issue because we actually care about it and our state regulates it. In particular, the burgeoning cities and traditional agriculture are arguing about what is causing the pollution to be so high. Capitalism is exporting the means of production from here to China, and the resulting waste products -that would have been limited by regulations if those goods were produced here- are blowing right back.

This was why Trump had to cancel his trip to Aisne-Marne. The rain would have eliminated his magnetic personality.
Is this why he wants to revive Star Wars, because he thinks it’s an actual dome? “We didn’t have the technology then, but now we do. ::makes video game sounds::” I suppose he imagines Dome is even better than Wall.

Ridana: I believe Trump is kinda-sorta referring to Israel’s missile-defense system, famously called the Iron Dome. Though he may also be thinking of some “Star Wars”/”BMD” mashup as well…
@9 I think that’s likely, but I also have no doubt, given his hand gestures while talking about it, that he envisions it as a physical or force field dome, just as he believes stealth fighters are literally invisible, or that you can shine lights up inside people to cure Covid. He has a way of hearing about some technical thing and wrapping a whole sci-fi fantasy around one tiny kernel of fact until it’s all but unrecognizable what he’s even on about.
