There will be a town hall style debate on the new health care bill on Monday at 9:00pm on CNN. It will feature Lindsey Graham and Bill Cassidy on one side and Bernie Sanders and Minnesota senator Amy Klobuchar on the other. It should be a good debate since I doubt that any senator has studied the issue of health care more than Sanders. But unfortunately I don’t get cable TV and will have to read about it later.
Meanwhile, Republicans seem to be concerned that late night talk show host Jimmy Kimmel’s attacks on their latest health care proposal is gaining attention and have decided to fight back by criticizing him. But Kimmel is not backing down and for the third straight night he explains why the bill is so bad that pretty much every organization associated with health care opposes it.

Oh wow… I didn’t think they were that stupid. About social skills at least, I know they have issues with STEM subjects. It seems like it’s never a good idea to try to argue with a witty comedian openly. If you win, congratulations you get a Bozo button for being the killjoy who verbally pummelled a funny person in public. And if you don’t win, you’re the butt of a national joke you helped shine a spotlight on. And that’s without even taking into account that their job has them more familiar with snappy comebacks than yours probably does.

So four senators will debate the bill on CNN. I wonder if they know there is a more appropriate place for that kind of debate, it’s called the Senate itself. Oh, that’s right, the head honcho of the Senate, McConnell, won’t allow such shenanigans in the Senate.

“He barely knows the difference between Melania and Ivanka.”
Sure he does. He has sex with the former, but imagines she is the latter. Completely different!
