Super Bowl ads

I watched most of the Super Bowl game and of course saw the ads. My problem is that although I remember ads, I almost never remember the product that is being advertised. So when the next day people rave about or pan the ads by product name, I have no idea which ones they are talking about unless they describe it. If you are like me, you can see most of the ads here.

I do remember that some of them were weird, some awful, some incomprehensible, and a few rather nice.

Sometimes the adverts are meant to work on a subliminal level, our consumer habits have been under scrutiny for years by the advertisers. A lot of money, effort and research goes into these adverts its really difficult to go into some of these methods in a small post. But just as an example annoying adverts tend to stick in our minds and influence us in buying products in a round about way.

I sometimes find it hard to understand what goes through the mind of an advertising copywriter. Some of the ideas are just plain stupid and would not entice me to buy their product if you paid me. The worst culprits are ads I see at he cinema. Until the very end, I have absolutely no idea what these lavish mini movies are meant to be promoting. Even when I discover the product or whatever, I leaves me thinking, “What was the point of it all?”.
