    Good luck with the semester.

    Work?
The Ayn Rand way of doing the same might be to hire some professor who came here as refugee to do the work for you, and then pay him/her minimum wages.
I jest. Ayn Rand et al would not see amy value in biology education. Except maybe how to plant cotton.

(I am grumpy today, have used up most vacation days)
(in my language “semester” means “vacation”. Go figure)

Objectivist guru Harry Binswanger wrote The biological basis of teleological concepts. So yeah that was a thing. One would be better off reading the philosophical meanderings of Ernst Mayr, despite his radical adaptationism and awkward flirtations with positive eugenics.

As for Rodney Dangerfield in the OP, I kinda met him in Daytona. Me and a friend went to Daytona for MTV Spring Break there. Saw some Primus. Primus sucks! That fact was cemented as they opened for Rush much later in my timeline. My friend met PM Dawn.

I guess it was cool to see Dangerfield but it wasn’t like I was actually there for him. Polysemy.

I wish I met PM Dawn instead:

    Oh and…Primus SUCKS!!!!

I guess I forgot to snip that part. Other than that how was the video? Granted it’s a US export but I’ve seen Aussie stuff like Bring Her Back and season 1 of Wolf Creek I liked.

-A british guy is getting Alcorelle through the food approval process. It is stuff designed from the bottom up to tickle the right receptors (but not the wrong ones) and exit the bloodstream in just two hours. Booze without real alcohol.
Something for us who want to relax without getting aggressive or hungover. I have never understood why people ingest stuff that literally makes them vomit (cats do it all the time, buy they are adapted for it).

From the opposite side of the lectern, I’m starting my IT security class tonight. I’m about 80% done with my getting my Computer Support AS, though at 52 I doubt I’m going to find a job. In fact, I’m getting tired of the whole damn thing.

I’d quit, but it’s sort of sunk cost fallacy at this point.

Heh… Went to class and found out that it was meant for future cybersecurity professionals rather than potential help desk drudges like me. Instructor recommended a much more suitable course starting in October.
