He’s such a good Republican

An empty football helmet. Perfect!

Herschel Walker personifies all those good ol’ Republican ideals: stupidity, ignorance, greed, and dishonesty.

He might be the next Senator from Georgia. You can hear all the chucklefucks in the audience clucking approvingly over his ‘science’, and you can hear the gears grinding. Why should we do something that benefits us if it also benefits the rest of the world? They’re all thinking about modifying their trucks so they can roll coal now and teach China a lesson.

Now I wonder if he’s actually lying, or his brain is so rotten that he doesn’t know he’s lying.

Doesn’t matter, the deader the brain and the more corrupt the morals, the better the Republican candidate.

Concussions? That stumbles into Kantian “ought versus can” territory if so.

I’m still tore up about what he did singlehandedly against the Gators in the early 80s. I hate the Cowboys now, but mostly for Jerry Jones not Walker’s tenure there. Emmitt Smith was better than Walker in so many ways on and off field even if I despise “America’s Team”.

Hopefully Walker fails at his Senate bid. He would be an embarrassment, but we already have had that with Trump, Moscow Mitch, MTG, Boebert, etc so the bar is pretty damn low.

They don’t care, if anything the rank-and-file right wingers LOVE that their opponents get impotently worked up over Walker’s comments. (i.e. “Owning the libs.”) Our outrage reveals that we’re nerdy, elitist control freaks who take government too seriously. To them, running a civilization is supposed to be a part-time job for rich assholes taking a hiatus from their companies who are office just to make sure the cops and the military are doing their jobs and no more. To the devoees of “small/limited government” politician is never supposed to be career. So long as the government perpetuates the white, Christian, capitalist hegemony in America, they don’t care if they put an actual vegetable (say a potato or a rutabaga) in power.

That and the fact that he’s a token running against a sitting “liberal” African American senator is bigoted sauce to the racist goose.

Hopefully Walker fails at his Senate bid.

Latest poll from 538 is giving Walker a two point lead.

That’s why I’ve given up on “hope.”

Interesting that PZ used a Dallas Cowboys helmet for illustration here, the helmet of the team that built a three-time championship dynasty at least partly on the windfall of draft picks they got by trading the seriously overvalued Walker. The Minnesota Vikings acquired a big name with an old trophy, but the production on the field was lacking.
It’s another example of Republicans putting party politics above the good of the country. I don’t care how strongly you might believe that conservative politics are best for America, when you stop giving a shit about the intelligence, capability, stability, and character of the people you boost into power, you’ve lost any pretense of “putting America first.”
I mean, at a time when scientists are telling us the clock is running out on stopping disastrous climate change, putting a man in the Senate who probably thinks trees make the wind blow by waving their branches is beyond irresponsible.

The average right-winger’s response will be something along the lines of: “The Wall just got 10 feet higher!” To them, global warming was always “Earth-worshipping, hippie-dippy, communism;” a hoax perpetuated by freedom-hating leftists as a means of controlling your life. Buying incandescent light bulbs, rolling coal, and voting for science-denying ex-jocks is showing contempt for their nefarious schemes.

What is with Republicans picking the most ignorant people they can find? I had nightmares when sarah palin was running for VP years ago . Praying that she’d get nowhere near the Oval Office. Even Bush jr. was pretty stupid , let alone Dolt45

There is also some russian roulette claim, which people are taking seriously given Walker’s tendency to confabulate. He’s a candidate you cannot believe on any topic – a perfect republican leader. Also an insult to black americans: “we think you’d vote for this pile of dogshit because of race.” I hope he blows up in their faces but it sure is hard to predict anything anymore.

That is the eternal question haunting me with regards to politician’s pandemic response too.

Herschel Walker put a knife to his girlfriends throat and threatend to kill her, later he claimed that it was an alter who did that. and he has dissociative identity disorder…

dissociative identity disorder is some of the nastiest psuedoscientific theories out there and Herschel Walker should have spent time in jail
