It’s about time we had some real science physics content around here.

Another brilliant blogger.Ftb is the place to be. When is Jerry
Coyne moving in? I’m going to spend hours here.

Oh noez. Mano has a post about gay marriage. He’s abandoned his commitment to pure, noble science and skepticism. Won’t someone think of teh rationality? Which of you femi-sheep seduced him?

  5. Josh, Official SpokesGay says

Hi Mano, and welcome! I’ve enjoyed reading your work in other venues; it’s great to have you here at FtB. I’m one of those liberal arts grads who just loves the education in hard sciences and big concepts in physics that one can get from scientists like you who take the time to write about them for the general public. Thank you!

    Hi Mano,

I’m really interested in black holes and Cosmology. Read Hawking, Suskind, Mlodinow, and Stenger.

My impression is we are within sight of understanding just how the universe came about including what set off the Big Bang.

Or I didn’t quite understand those books which is always possible. They are hard to twist your brain around.

Yeah, I was really hoping for Sheldon Cooper when PZ said “theoretical physicist”.

I have actually seen Jim Parsons on stage a few times quite a few years ago here in Houston. He was a regular at Stages and an occasional at The Alley. Not a bad career overall. It was amazing that he went to LA and got cast on a hit show within six months of arriving there.

Hurray! I have had the pleasure of meeting Dr. Singham on a few occasions. I am a member of The Cleveland Freethinkers, and we have had the distinct privelege of having Dr. Singham speak at a few of our roundtable meetups. We’re so proud to have someone like him in our local freethought community.
    Congratulations Dr. Singham!

You mean an engineer, eh. Yeah, how about a blog by an engineer? Hey, don’t all shout at once!

Okay this is getting out of hand! I love all the content but I need a better way to organize it. Adding people to the bottom as they come doesn’t work for me (personal preference I suppose). It just seems all over the place. I wish I could organize it like my igoogle page, where I can drag and drop the things I want in the order I want (I know that’s too much to ask for). But when one of the people at the top of the page does nothing but say fucke and give recipes with no actual content and people at the bottom of the page have great posts it annoys me. Or can we have three columns?

I know I have a page down key, it’s just something I wish could be fixed. Maybe I’m the only one.

jayc, I rather agree. It would be great to rotate which blogs are featured at the top of the FTB homepage, so that the attention is spread more evenly amongst the blogs (I’m such a socialist, eh?).

The main page is getting a redesign soon. It was a stopgap, but as you can see, when we add new people consigning them to the ghetto at the bottom of the page is not a good idea.

An excellent blogger whom I’ve been following for a while- strongly recommended to one and all.

Congratulations to Mano, our hometown freethought hero! I’m so glad he’s receiving the greater recognition which, due to his writing of remarkable clarity (& the fact that he’s an all-around great guy), he has deserved for a long time. Mano will make a very fine addition to FTB! :)

Now all you need is a mathematician, a different kind of mathematician, and a statistician. You’ll be set.

…does FTB have a good Anthropologist or Sociologist already?
