It’s by Mari Kasurinen, an artist who’s created a few of his own My Little Pony figurines. My favourite is the Stormtrooper.

My wife and I have been talking about getting matching octopus tattoos, because the eight legs thing is symbolic of our story (we were friends and pretty much knew we were in love with each other for a whopping eight years before we final got together!). Haven’t been able to find a cool-enough looking design though… that one’s not bad!

Oh yeah, and speaking of nerds&tattoos, I have a tattoo of Euler’s identity on my left shoulder. heh…
I posted Octattoos as I have a degree in marine science – personally I have a music tattoo but lets not go there… Thank you for the link – this site is reigniting my scientific side :-)

A very charming glance in her eye, but what is the intent of the scimitar?
Just last night, I saw some paintings of sexy alien women in the style of “nose art” for space warships in the Star Wars universe. I wondered where the sexy _really_ alien women were, who might not look sexy to Humans. This could be one… but it’s still disturbingly sexy.

I work at Hampshire College, and this past Sunday I came in to find that a bunch of students had chalked Cthulhu stuff all over central campus. Like tentacles coming out all the storm drains. Quite nice.

Fabulous! A flirtatious pirate octopus – what a winner!

You beat me to it Jay… not just any cephalopod, a lady pirate cephalopod with a perfectly ambiguous “do you feel lucky?” look.
Now !
I might actually like that one, been looking for a good tat for ages ! Where did you get that from,PZ?
It has eyelashes! What anatomical oversight! I think a refund is in order.
Calf right? Or forearm? OH NOES WHICH IS IT!?
I’m not a fan of tattoos, but that’s pretty awesome (if you are gonna decorate your body it has to be something original, or gang related IMO).
The pen is mightier than the sword–I like my (Michael McRae original) artwork better!
Best. Tattoo. Ever.
More artistic license with cephalopods – the Owl Kraken
Did you get a Tattoo PZ?
Cthulhu fans should check this out.

Who needs the sword in there?
Completely apart from the eyelids (what, is it a tetrapod now?) and eyelashes.
Dead obviously the former.
I’m glad I don’t have any weird fetishes.
I thought it was the right hip of a lady (with pubes modestly tucked or shaved).
But okay, calf dammit.
@Phlya: I can see it that way myself, actually, assuming a pretty flat rump.
