kate’s such a big personality on tracks like REM’s shiny happy people that it’s weird seeing her take a back seat to cindy here. and what’s fred doing? i can’t even hear the tambo on this track. maybe if i listen with headphones on…

last night i dreamt of some kinda naval war, where one faction was the navy of hell. they floated into battle on giant hieronymus bosch lookin teapots, and despite the silliness of that, i knew the soldiers on those distant ships were totally hellraiser type cenobites.

zomg they banned AI art on pillowfort. i remembered i had an account and signed into the decrepit dying babypit of a site where they immediately e-begged from me, only to discover they were caving preemptively to the ignorant horde dreaming that the stuff was ripping them off somehow. cool, cool. i deleted my account within a minute. vaya con huevos bitches.

For questions like that I usually look up the lyrics and look at the rest of the song. It sounds like you’re on the right track.

As for AI art… I suspect I disagree with you on that score. Really gets down to two things, machine learning is too copycat (see inclusion of fuzzy logos or artist signatures for example) so no opt in is an issue. And the infrastructure for it is too centralized which makes it dependent upon corporations behaving themselves rather than chasing money. And we all know how that’s going to turn out.

It’s a complicated topic with a lot on the line for some people. If nothing else it’s clear it’ll depress artist wages for the same reasons child labor or slavery depresses wages for all kinds of workers (looking solely at the economics here, not making false moral equivalencies).

congrats on finding yourself in perfect agreement with 1000% of the leftosphere on the issue, must feel nice to not be an outsider on a hot button issue du jour. snark aside, i’ll say you at least managed to make your expression of that position less than personally offensive to me, which is more than a lot of people can do. probably we won’t wanna talk about it tho.
