Listen, all magic is scientific principals presented like “mystical hoodoo” which is fun, but it’s sort of irresponsible. I got your magic right here, okay? Haaaan-hazzle dazzle! Flubby-doo! Slama-blama-foo!
Ahhh… :) So very familiar lab-bench photo, so very familiar reagent bottles, supplies and equipments! Do I spy a bottle of nail polish, and is it for fixing the edges of coverslips onto slides? Those are all Eppendorf-branded pipettes, right? Do they accept universal tips? Your P-thou seems to do! :D
Sorry for the lab-talk!

“scientific principals”? Does that mean PIs?
Happy Halloween

It’s a lab and someone dressed up doing magic. Are you sure this pic wasn’t taken at the Discovery Institute?

Careful with the pictures, Jen! We can’t have the rubes knowing that science actually works by means of magic! They actually believe that “methodological naturalism” line we sold them.

You’re one of my favorite people, and I love you (in an entirely platonic way!).
Also, WHEN FINN AND JAKE ARE IN A FUNK SHE HELPS THEM OUT WITH HER SCIENCE JUNK :D

@ ^ brakemanz : I can see the neo~ (neon* even) but where do you perceive anything Amish about that costume? (Puzzled)
Good one though Jen and belated Happy Halloween to you too. Hope you had a good one.
* In the neon lights vivid brightness sense of the word and not the colourless noble gas one.

Arthur C. Clarke’s first law about any sufficiently advanced technology being indistinguishable from magic still holds then.

Just checking in to let you know that we all miss you, Jen. I hope that your time away is helping you to rejuvenate mind, body and secular-spirit. Whenever you decide to make your triumphant return to the blag-o-sphere, we’ll be here.

+1 to Raiki’s comments, from another reader that checks in periodically to make sure that my RSS feed isn’t broken.
I will say that this was a good post to leave us parked with — it’s always fun to see that big smile peering out of that magical costume. But rest assured that when you are ready to take the blog out for a spin again, we’re eager to hop back in and go along for the ride.
Its March 19, 2014.
I guess Blag Hag went “bye-bye”.
The FtB’s need to require a quota of posts for bloggers to stay on the roster. Honestly, this blogosphere seems littered with corpses.
But I suppose that “looking bigger than it really is” helps draw advertising–not that I have a marketing degree.
