    Very nice but Brian Greene just dropped an F boom on the PBS webcast portion of there new show “The Fabric of the Cosmos,” and gave me hope for the future. Damn it I could of asked him how many strings vibrating would it take to make up this great flower.

    I tried to grow one of those from a root/corm/bulb thing I bought at the Garden Show. Failed abominably.

    Looks to me like a bio-mechanical take on the fighting machines from THE WAR OF THE WORLDS. Yeah, yeah, I know they were referred to as ‘tripods’…

    Have grown Tacca integrifolia in my garden here in Northern Thailand for nearly a decade. No fragrance, just attractive foliage and very unusual flowers. In Thai it is known simply as ‘Black Flower’ [ ดอกไม้สีดำ ].
