Speaking in Seattle this week… twice!

If you Seattlites aren’t sick of seeing me yet, you should come to one of my talks this week! Or you can be an Uber Fan and come to BOTH! Crazy, I know. Here’s the info if you’re interested:

Boobquake and its Aftershocks
Saturday, January 15th at 1:00 pm
Followed by a town hall-style discussion on how atheists/freethinkers handle the holidays.
Light refreshments provided.
Greenwood Public Library
8016 Greenwood Ave N
Seattle, WA 98103
Hosted by the Seattle Atheists

My Trip to the Creation Museum
Tuesday, January 18th at 7:00pm
Eat, drink, and be entertained by the horrors of the Creation Museum!
Blue Star Cafe & Pub
4512 Stone Way N
Seattle, WA 98103
Hosted by the Seattle Skeptics

I’ve been going to the meetings of both of these groups since I moved here and enjoy them a lot! I’m honored to be presenting for them. And I’d be even happier if people showed up, so stop by!

And in case you’re not in the Seattle area, don’t worry – I have a lot of conferences planned in the next couple months. So far I’ll be in Southern California, Minnesota, North Carolina, Boston, and Kamloops BC. Check out my speaking page for all the info.

I have no idea! There will probably be at least one public pub night. I’m sure I’ll post an update when it gets closer to the conference.

  2. says

I actually spent the night in Missoula on my way from Indiana to Seattle! Ate at a mediocre Mexican restaurant! …And I probably have no intention of going back, unless you have a skeptic/atheist group there that wants to fly me out. I refuse to drive through Eastern Washington again :P

  3. says

There’s the Missoula Area Secular Society, or M.A.S.S (I love ironic acronyms!) so I will ask next time I am around. You are forgiven for your aversion to going across EW (again, appropriate initalism!) to meet us, the bus ride to Seattle is torture enough, driving… Never. Too bad I still don’t live in Hawaii, it’s rare for people to turn down an offer to speak at UH Manoa, especially this time of year.

  4. says

A group in Hawaii said they’d love to have me speak there if I ever happen to travel there, but they didn’t have the money to fly this small fry out (those words are mine, not theirs :P). So close!

  5. Gus Snarp says

The poster for the Kamloops event is very well laid out. They’ve place your picture squarely in the center, as is appropriate for the star speaker.

  6. Charon says

Nooo! I just got back to Colorado from the American Astronomical Society conference in Seattle. I came home too early. (Or I finished grad school too early – was at UW, until I started a postdoc last year.)

  7. breadbox says

Rats. I was planning on going to the Tuesday talk, but it’s just been preempted by a babysitting job.I still hope to attend one of your talks before you leave Seattle. (I do wish the Seattle Skeptics held more pub meetings closer to downtown.)
