It has log been obvious that serial sex abuser Donald Trump (SSAT) is a sociopath with no concept of how to treat people as human beings. If you oppose him, he will attack you viciously. If you are nice to him, he will say nice things about you, although he will not do nice things for you. He is purely transactional in his relationships and if you switch from being a rival to a supporter, he will stop saying nasty things and say nice things. There are no principles involved at all.

Nowhere was this more evident than in the way he treated his rivals. Although he is not the president, right from the beginning he was like an incumbent when it came to seeking the Republican nomination. and hence he enjoyed a huge lead from the get-go and was never threatened by any of his rivals. He could have just coasted along knowing that they would drop out eventually and endorse him.

Furthermore, none of them even criticized him, except in the mildest of terms, ignoring the vast number of issues on which he is vulnerable. Instead Ron DeSantis merely said that he would be just like SSAT but without some of the ‘baggage’, presumably his legal cases. Even on that score, he defended him and agreed with SSAT that they were due to a weaponization of the justice department. You could not get more obsequious than that. Nikki Haley merely said that it was time for a new generation of leaders and only very lately did she obliquely raise the issue of his mental decline. So SSAT’s rivals were as unthreatening as it was possible to. be. And yet he attacked them viciously.

Back in 2016, SSAT similarly attacked his rivals for the nomination. But at that time, he was initially an underdog and they attacked him as well. Remember how Marco Rubio made jokes about his penis size? Chris Christie and Ted Cruz also attacked him.harshly. SSAT gave them all demeaning nicknames and by that means, he shot them down one by one and got the nomination. It looks like SSAT feels that that ridiculing opponents is the only mode of running a campaign, even when it is unnecessary as it was this year. And the behavior of his rivals, all of whom ended up not just endorsing him but even groveling before him, must have convinced him that there is no downside to this kind of boorish behavior.

When Haley drops out of the race and endorses him and says that he will be a great president, which may happen as soon as the results of today’s New Hampshire primary results are released, SSAT will start praising her again.

These people are manifestations of shamelessness and cynicism.
