More evidence that SSAT is losing it

There has been considerable speculation that serial sex abuser Donald Trump (SSAT)’s repeated verbal flubs are not just because he is casual with the truth, saying wrong things if it serves to advance his narrative, but that he actually is losing his grip on reality. As evidence of this, here is a clip of him during a rambling speech he gave at a rally in New Hampshire which holds it primary election on Tuesday and where Nikki Haley is challenging him.

He is clearly confusing Haley with Nancy Pelosi who was speaker on January 6th, 2021. He is not making an off-the-cuff aside where verbal slips can happen. This was clearly part of a planned attack on Haley and yet he spoke as if he did not know that she has never been in Congress.

Also, why would he offer whoever 10,000 troops to quell the riot if, as he keeps saying, there was no riot at all and those people were merely patriotic citizens who were just peacefully demonstrating and visiting the Capitol building? Furthermore, there is no evidence that he ever made such an offer of troops and his own secretary of defense, who should know, directly refuted it when testifying under oath..

Ardent MAGAnauts may not care about the mounting evidence of SSAT’s cognitive decline but I suspect that these kinds of things will continue to be a steady drip, drip that will take a toll on those who are now supporting him but have some misgivings. Even Nikki Haley has used this to start musing about SSAT’s mental competence.

“They’re saying he got confused, that he was talking about something else, he’s talking about Nancy Pelosi,” she continued. “He mentioned me multiple times in that scenario. The concern I have is — I’m not saying anything derogatory — but when you’re dealing with the pressures of the presidency, we can’t have someone else that we question whether they’re mentally fit to do this. We can’t.”

Let’s see if any other Republicans start talking about SSAT’s mental state.

    “I’m not saying anything derogatory”

Well, Nikki, you are. The problem is that you’re trying to dance around it so as not to upset his supporters when you should be blaring it loudly and clearly.

I think this should be hammered on. This isn’t forgetting where you are or what the day of the week is, something that a lot of campaigning politicians have done after a couple of weeks on the road. This isn’t some deceptive political statement. This isn’t forgetting the current president of some country half way around the world.
This is getting two people confused that have nothing in common except being women. One of which he should have dealt with on a regular basis when he was President.

Even if Nikki Haley is too yellow to go all the way, this could be the first crack in the dyke holding back a flood of criticism among Republicans. I hope.
Looking at the example of BoJo, the cult of personality does not last forever.

    Blah blah.

Is Trump (a) less likely or (b) more likely to be the GOP candidate now than he was last week? Newsflash:Desantis -- his closest competitor -- is out. Does *anything* matter?

Even Nikki Haley has used this to start musing about SSAT’s mental competence.

Even before this, she was just starting to allude to Trump’s age, speaking about how we need a younger generation to be in charge.

But I doubt Haley will criticize Trump any further than this. Trump is going to be the nominee and she likely wants a position in his administration again.

Leo, heh. A couple of pullquotes, some time apart.

Former President Donald Trump says he’s not picking Nikki Haley for vice president.

“She is not presidential timber,” Trump said at his campaign event in Concord, New Hampshire, on Friday. “Now when I say that, that probably means that she’s not going to be chosen as the vice president.”

Trump’s comments come as he has increased his attacks on his former ambassador to the United Nations as she attempts to cut into his lead in New Hampshire ahead of Tuesday’s primary.

“I know her very well. She’s not tough enough. She’s not smart enough. And she wasn’t respected enough. She cannot do this job,” Trump said, spending much of his speech on Friday disparaging her. “She’s not going to be able to deal with President Xi. She’s not going to be able to deal with Putin.”

THE PRESIDENT: — because you know all the players.

And that was really the thing I think she did best at the United Nations; she got to know the players. She got to know China, Russia, India. She knows everybody on a very first-name basis. And they like her — except for maybe a couple, which is normal, right?

    AMBASSADOR HALEY: (Laughs.)

THE PRESIDENT: They can’t all like you. But they do; they really like her. And I think, maybe more importantly, they respect her.

So, Nikki, I just wanted to tell you that we will miss you. We’ll be speaking all the time, but we will miss you nevertheless. And you have done a fantastic job. And I want to thank you very much.

@ #5: At this point, I think the only thing that might stop Trump from being the GOP candidate is death -- and even then, I’d expect him to get a lot of write-ins.

The general does, obviously. Bad news about Trump is not going to change the primary, but it can help later.

Let me describe an actor: he’s tall, slim, older than me (I’m mid fifties), has a deep, sonorous voice, and his best known role is that of a completely bald, badass leader in a long leather coat in a fantastical setting. Who is it?

If you said Laurence Fishburne, go to the top of the class. If you said Samuel L. Jackson, you’re a fucking racist and you should be cancelled… even though he fits that description perfectly.

But Haley and Pelosi are both white, so TODAY Trump isn’t being hauled over the coals for being a racist. I mean -- he obviously definitely is, but it’s just that if the two people you (and as per 11, somewhat justifiably) confuse are white, you’re a confused old fuck. If they’re not -- YOU A RACIST!!!1!1!!! Funny how that works.

Me, I think Nick Nolte and Gary Busey have never been in the same room. Katy Perry and Zooey Deschanel confuse me. Bill Pullman and William Hurt, I get confused with. Nobody gives two shits about that. But there are TWO extremely high energy comedians, and they’re both called Chris, but the one in Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back is NOT the one in Rush Hour and Bod forbid anyone who doesn’t want labelling racists get THEM confused.

sonofrojblake@12 Some pro Trump types are already trying to go after Haley with birtherism, since her parents are both from India. If Trump sees her as enough of a threat that will probably end up in his speeches.
