Stephanie Grisham has been replaced as White House press secretary by Kayleigh McEnany. You may not have heard of Grisham. That is because since the time she was appointed to that post in June of last year, she has not had a single press conference which, you know, used to be considered one of the main parts of that job. She apparently first learned of her ousting from the media.
Axios reported last week that Meadows had been quietly discussing replacing Grisham with McEnany or Pentagon spokesperson Alyssa Farah.
Grisham responded to Axios: “Sounds like more palace intrigue to me, but I’ve also been in quarantine. If true, how ironic that the press secretary would hear about being replaced in the press.”
However, on Tuesday, she confirmed the move, which was first reported by CNN. “I continue to be honored to serve both the President and first lady in the administration,” she said in a statement. “My replacements will be announced in the coming days and I will stay in the West Wing to help with a smooth transition for as long as needed.”
McEnany is one of those people the administration trots out to the media to make meaningless statements that have no basis in reality but serve to support whatever nonsense that Trump says and does. She usually goes on Trump-friendly media so that her inanities are not challenged and apparently that is what she will still continue to do.
If you pronounce her name as Mac-Inane-y, that would be an accurate description of her.
