Hmmm, could apply to some of the Troglodytes in Aus politics at the moment. Peter Dutton, I’m looking at you…

    Must reblog this.

(Laughs out loud (possibly annoying the neighbours (sorry!)))
I’ved lived in Europe — currently in S.France, just perhaps ten metres from the Mediterranean Sea — for many yonks and that rings true (albeit with slightly rose-tinted glasses)… which is not to say there aren’t problems, there are, e.g., the Roma are horribly discriminated against, and this area has far too many le penazis and mafia-types… and then there are problematic “governments” in, e.g., Poland, Hungary, the UK, and (now) Italy, plus a very confused and not-always-humane approach to migration and residency. But armed civilians are simply NOT a concern, nor (on the whole) is getting shot by the police. In some places (e.g., Ireland) the police aren’t even routinely armed.

A few days ago, newspapers brought the ‘alarming’ message that the number of people shot and killed in Germany by police has been steadily going up over the years, mainly because of attacks by knife-wielding idiots. Last year the number was 14.

Knowing that US-American police often shoot more bullets in just one incident, I had to smile.

Dutch rabid right politicians Geert Wilders and Thierry Baudet are quite like that guy in this cartoon.
