Off topic but a good reason to try and hamstring Trump.

December 2025: In a speech/bipartisan context, Trump again expressed a preference for immigrants from Nordic nations like Norway, Sweden, and Denmark, referring to them as “nice people” while pausing migration from other regions.

The Remarks: During a campaign rally in Port Huron, Michigan, in late October 2026, Trump criticized Norway and stated he no longer wanted immigrants from the country because he had not been awarded the Nobel Peace Prize. He claimed, “Norway has become a shithouse country, actually,” and asserted that the Nobel committee is controlled by Norway—though the committee operates independently of the Norwegian government.

This is a classic Trump move, take his ball and go home if you won’t make him the star of the game. He is not concerned about Americans in the least, only him being the biggest, the best, the greatest, the most, and so on, while receiving one of every prize, medal, or honor civilization can offer. The self-centeredness is beyond what one can imagine. The man can not fathom what shame is.

I voted the first day of early voting in my state. Wasn’t hard, only three Dems on the ballot. Also voted against a tax to increase the homeowner’s tax by ten bucks per $100,000. The measure was to buy and preserve open space land. Normally I would vote yes for this proposition, but I’m in an ugly mood.

And to quote The Joker in The Dark Knight, “And here we go!”.
Of course it won’t be until Wednesday until the vote countingg gets pretty much done. Oh please let the Democrats take the Senate!

As a former semi-professional clown, I can assure you that not all clowns are evil. Many are just kind of stupid. (Me, too)

Given that the Clown-in-Chief is evil, we might not really know the impact of the election until next year, if then. The vote is today, the count is the next couple of days, and for the next who-knows-how-long Dumpster denies the results, calls in his thug army, and his fuck buddies Mike Johnson and the other Repuglicans in Congress waffle on the transition.

BTW I saw a clip the other day purporting to be made by former CIA agents saying they are organizing to prepare to defend the US. I couldn’t watch all of it and I didn’t get the name of their organization. Ten or so people were in the clip.

Found it: The Steady State (here):

Protecting Our Democracy. Preserving the Rule of Law. Securing Our Future.

The 450+ members of the Steady State are former national security and intelligence officials who remain committed to their oaths to “defend the Constitution against all enemies, foreign and domestic.”

They promote democracy, rule of law, the Constitution and the institutions that support these pillars.

This just came out this morning.
As Americans vote, Trump says US will stop $4 billion in aid to Israel
The chances that any of this happened or will happen is zero.
Why are we funding genocides around the world these days anyway?

Even the Reuters article sounds a bit skeptical.

    Reuters:

Trump says El-Sayed and the left use Israel funding against Republicans

WASHINGTON, Nov 3 (Reuters) – US President Donald Trump on Tuesday said he made a deal with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu that Washington would stop $4 billion in funding to Israel after the end of this year, but will still sell ‌weapons to its close Middle East ally.
Speaking as US voters headed to the polls for midterm elections that will decide who controls Congress, Trump did not provide details and it was not immediately clear which funding he meant.

    @10 raven

Pre-election ploy to get the attention of the anti-Israel crowd.

I saw a piece on Instagram where the person said the 4 billion was only a quarter of what we really give them. They said the total is around $20 billion a year.

So was the fake steel mill announcement for southeastern Iowa. Think about the big factory to make flat screen TVs in Wisconsin.

Fairly quickly after the public money was committed, however, Foxconn gradually reduced its plan to build high-definition TV screens at its future Mount Pleasant facility.

First, it scaled down to making smaller TV screens for cars. Then, the company shrunk its plans even further to assembling coffee kiosks. Then it scaled things down even more to what it looks like now: running a relatively small “storage” facility with fewer than 1,200 jobs. The company also rents out its virtually-empty “landmark building” – a large silver globe that looms over the mostly-vacant land – for events.

In the end, according to Tabak’s research, the small village of Mount Pleasant, spent more than $100 million dollars in its mostly-failed attempt to get Foxconn to come to the village. That’s money it won’t re-coup for decades.

“It’s particularly heartbreaking for those people who were so literally bull-dozed to make this possible,” Tabak said.

Many residents in Mount Pleasant are now bound by non-disclosure agreements after settling a series of lawsuits filed in the wake of this saga.

But there may be a bit of hope now.

Microsoft bought a portion of the large swath of Foxconn land and is building a new server farm, which will employ a few hundred workers. Microsoft paid more than $100 million for the land. Not to Mount Pleasant, but to Foxconn, since it still owns the property

In 2017, Gov. Scott Walker made a deal with the Taiwan-based multinational electronics manufacturer to bring thousands of jobs to Wisconsin. Six years later, few of those jobs have materialized.
