Does he lie about everything?

The President is shit-talking Minnesota again. He really hates us.

The once Great State of Minnesota is being taken over by Somali Immigrants. There is Violence, Murder, and Mayhem all over the State. The people of Minnesota must fight back. You have been robbed, and abandoned by your State Government. Your Governor is an incompetent thief who doesn’t want to get involved. He just wants to get out of town with as much as he can steal, and then, lead a quiet life. The Somalians should not be allowed to get away with what they are doing. They view you as weak and stupid people. Fight back Minnesota, fight back! If you need, the Federal Government will come to your rescue.
Governor Tim Walz, and Mayor of Minneapolis, Jacob Frey, must immediately ask for Federal help — and leave the rest to us! President DONALD J. TRUMP

Somali immigrants are a tiny minority here, the ones I’ve met have all been good citizens, and no, I can look out the window and read the local newspapers and see a generally small amount of Violence, Murder, and Mayhem. As for our governor, that’s just projection — we all know which executive is raking in billions from corruption, and who has handed out billions to his own children. I think the only person viewing Minnesotans as “weak and stupid” is the guy whose brownshirts were run out of town by our resistance.

Do MAGAs actually believe what’s coming out of Trump’s colon? I’m sure some of them do, but a lot are beginning to resist. Did you know that Ben Shapiro’s hack propaganda company, the Daily Wire, is trying to make a tasteless pro-ICE movie in Montana?

The film blends a fictionalized depiction of the Renee Good shooting in Minneapolis in January with a narrative centered on armed shopkeepers defending a store from Antifa rioters, including dialogue in the script referencing “rooftop Koreans” firing from a grocery store roof.

The cinematic tension on set was quickly mirrored by real-world friction in downtown Livingston, where residents began staging demonstrations against the production over its controversial themes, unannounced gun-toting stunts and street closures disrupting local businesses and organizations.

There is no way they could make such a movie in Minnesota, so they’re filming in Montana…and Montanans are having none of it. I am aware that Montana citizens have a strong independent streak, but they also tend to be conservative, and they’re protesting ICE propaganda.

I will be interested to see how the Daily Wire can turn a scene involving black-clad masked men with guns against unarmed citizens into a heroic representation of ICE. Probably by lying a lot, like any Republican.

    He really hates us.

To be fair, he hates everybody.
A few days ago, he said he didn’t care if the Iranians dropped nuclear weapons on Los Angeles and San Diego, an area with 16 million people.

He hates me and I would be very disappointed if he didn’t.

The once Great State of Minnesota is being taken over by Somali Immigrants.

    No, they aren’t.

Somalis, over half of which were born in Minnesota and therefore aren’t even immigrants, are 2% of the population.
There is no way that 2% of the population is going to take over the state of Minnesota.
To figure this out, all you have to know is what numbers are and how to count, third grade math.

I see this all the time with right wingnuts.
An inability to use numbers or reason anything out.

They are also recently rambling on about Sharia law and how the Muslims are going to take over the USA. Made worse because the mayor of New York City is a Muslim.
Muslims are 1.6% of the US population and a small minority like that isn’t going to take over anything.

    Same thing with Trans people.
They are 0.5% of the population and aren’t going to take over athletics or anything else.

I, for one, look forward to a movie with heroic high-schoolers arming up and slaughtering masked ICE invaders, while shouting “WOLVERINES!”.
Too bad it would be CGI instead of a documentary.

An empty threat, probably tailor-made to get conservative Dems hyperventilating about Iran’s alleged danger to the world. As for the supposed unprecedented nature of the remark, rhetorically, it’s no different than fundies wishing that god(s) would destroy the places they don’t like with natural disasters, and taking the credit when that occasionally happens. Republicans have been there for a long time.

Trump does not want a quiet life, ever. He wants chaos, with himself at the center, in the spotlight, always.

    See?
Now the media (including this very blog) covers it because ignoring it would seem lackadaisical, and since public attention is finite, it crowds out other stuff which is older. Flooding the zone is a deliberate strategy.

Note that only a few hours earlier Trump announced a massive deal to import Russian diesel to lower US fuel prices, a most amusing claim since Ukraine’s recent drone strikes on Russian refineries have caused Russia to actually import diesel and ban its export. All this is known, e.g. https://www.reuters.com/business/energy/russia-extends-diesel-export-ban-until-end-october-2026-09-30/

And he is (as always) the news topic of the day.
Gotta give that to him, no? Not bad for an octogenarian.

(That one week or so he was not in the media churn, speculation arose he may have carked it)

Please refer to my Infinite Thread comment 319 for the latest tRUMP LIE!
@316 Reginald Selkirk correctly informed us: Trump announces deal for Russian diesel . . . Trump said the proposed release of hundreds of thousands of tonnes of Russian diesel would see prices “COMING DOWN, IN RECORD NUMBERS, AND FAST!”.
BUT: How the FRACK will that happen when “Russia Extends Diesel and Gasoline Export Bans Into 2027”
Ukrainian drone strikes on its refineries prompted the country’s worst fuel crisis since the collapse of the Soviet Union, causing people to queue for hours to secure fuel in some areas. Russia was forced to import fuel from India.

John, yes, it’s obvious and I saw that you posted about it first. I just thought such an egregious LIE need some added emphasis and details; because, living here, being immersed in all the escalating violence and ever more abusive lies, I get SOOO ANGRY when he pulls crap like this and the mainsllime news ignores that it is a fraud and normalizes his words an actions that I feel I need to make it Very Obvious.
Please, accept my apology if it felt I was stepping on your toes. I was just trying to add to the bandwagon of emphasis.

Sorry, shermanj. Maybe I am a bit touchy.

You know the thing with the daylight savings?

    see https://www.theatlantic.com/politics/2026/10/trump-daylight-savings-time/688900/

But perhaps Trump’s most fundamental motivation became evident late last month: A president who likes to golf would like more sunlight to do so. During the final day of the Presidents Cup, held at a Chicago-area country club on September 27, Trump met with the PGA Tour Chief Executive Brian Rolapp and discussed daylight savings. A few days later, Rolapp sent Trump a letter urging him to ensure that there is more sunlight in the evenings. Too many golfers are busy with their lives and struggling to get in enough time on the course, he argued—a problem made even worse when the clocks fall back. “An extra hour of evening light sounds simple, but for everyday Americans, it can be the difference between getting on the course and not,” Rolapp wrote. The change, he said, would generate 23 million additional rounds of golf each year and pump $1 billion into the golf industry. All of this seemed to register with Trump, who operates multiple golf clubs, and who made the letter public two days later. In a midterm election in which many voters are angry about prices at the pump or in the grocery-store aisles, a closing message from the president is to stand up for the rights of golfers to get an extra hour on the green.

John, I understand the hassle of daylight savings time. It may have helped farmers decades ago. But, now it just messes up our internal clocks.
I almost feel guilty that here in northern Scarizona, we don’t observe, and thus, avoid the misery of, daylight savings time.
Hope you get some helpful rest and relaxation.

What is a strategy that can be deployed to counteract the “flood the zone” play?

Somehow say “yeah whatever” then refocus on the real issues? Some form of constant public hammering on what’s important? How to get that in front of everyone, never mind getting them to accept it?

  15. John Morales says

    DanDare,

What is a strategy that can be deployed to counteract the “flood the zone” play?

Stop treating it as serious news. Stop normalising his eructions. Give context.

    —

shermanj, it really wasn’t for farmers — it was introduced after WW1 to conserve coal and energy.

Also, there are competing interests; one does not want children to have to go to school before dawn, nor to come home after dark. The further from the equator, the more disparity.
The obvious solution is to use it where appropriate, not to either reject it or force it everywhere.
It is not one size fits all.

    It’s been tried, too: https://www.newsweek.com/the-us-tried-permanent-daylight-saving-in-1974-and-people-hated-it-12197099

Calling it out for what it is and then mentoining what its distracting from eg. Epsitein files is a strategy I’d recomend. Just do that repeatedly and keep hammering it home.

Also some distractions like the let Iran nuke USA cities “Flood the zone / dead cat” tactic are so utterly outrageous that they are pretty much impossible to just shrug and go “whatever”about – so be outraged about them but then also point out that they are distractions and what they are distracting from too at the same time or shortly afterwards.
