If the electorate were rational…

We wouldn’t have these problems. Everyone has to see that Trump is insane, right?

He’s picking a trade war with Canada, our ally and partner. <a href=”https://www.nbcnewyork.com/news/national-international/trump-lake-ontario-lake-america-name-change-trade-war-canada-escalates/6539930>Canada is retaliating. We’re going to feel it in the form of toilet paper shortages soon. If he doesn’t get his way, he’s threatening to demolish the Kennedy Center — and he’ll do it, just like he tore down the East Wing. Most petty of all, he threatens to rename Lake Ontario to Lake America. Since when does the US president have authority over geography? He doesn’t.

These events are just the latest in his history of idiotic, self-defeating policy decisions by an incompetent bully. When will it become obvious to the other branches of the so-called distributed balance of federal power? Oh, wait, they know. The Senate and Supreme Court are enabling it.

But we really have to blame the American voter. Latest example: they’ve made Darline Graham* the Republican nominee to replace her dead brother. She’s not qualified. Her only ‘virtue’ is blood, and she got elected solely because she’s a member of the tribe. That tribal thinking is what’s going to get more Republicans elected in November.

We are so screwed.

*My mother’s name was Darlene, with an “e”. I’m not happy to see it dragged through the news attached to that smooth-brained Southern dingleberry.

If all the other potential nominees were also Republicans, I don’t think any of them would be considered qualified either.

The Lake Ontario thing is because Doug Ford hurt his fee-fees. I say: Good on Doug Ford! (Which is something I say very rarely).

Sponge Don Square Pants seems to have gotten even more vindictive as of late. This whole escalated conflict with Canada is ridiculous. And demolish the Kennedy Center over his unwarrantedly inflated ego? That’s vicious!

Say what you will about the hopefully one-off Freedom 250 GP IndyCar race. It at least set the stage for a purported tiff between Square Pants and Melania. Something maybe regarding Natalie Harp…not sure. Remember when the Republicans were scrutinizing real estate transactions and found an intern? Where are those moralizing witch hunters now?

Anyway the race itself was ok. The course was a bit messy with unintentional speed bumps and such. A bit longish. Leftish Bluesky jumped all over it.

I preferred the NASCAR Anduril 250 which took place on a navy base around San Diego. That one had actual legit excitement even though I dislike NASCAR far more than IndyCar.

I keep hearing how much the taxpayers were footing the bill for the IndyCar race some confused with F1 (Lando won that one!). Not so sure. Allegedly Penske footed much of the bill except maybe local law enforcement:

I wonder how much revenue it brought into the capital despite inconvenience and disruption for residents.

I watched on Fox via rabbit ears. They kept interrupting the commercials with the race and had Square Pants try to wave a green flag. Duffy waved the checkers. The alpha and omega were both emetic. They briefly distracted from the race to interview Melania. Cringe!

I still managed to put my political disgust aside and tried to focus on a race that was easily more exciting than the Monaco GP (very low bar), yet lacked the aesthetic backdrop. High tech racecars and DC architecture is a bit of a jarring juxtaposition.

Would be confusing, since there is already an American lake near Tillicum, Washington.

    If the electorate were rational…

Then Kamala Harris would be POTUs now.

    Lake America?

Broken, dry, paint-peeled algae filled Washington Reflecting Pool America more like.

We should change the name of the Reflecting Pool to Lake Trump and no longer provide any maintenance or cleaning.

Dumpster has always been a spoiled brat. Now he’s a senile spoiled brat in declining health. I wish he would go to sleep…forever.

You missed one of his worst mistakes two days ago.

Trump threatened to use the US military to invade the US Treasury bond market.

“The yields have come back up since [Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent’s initial intervention in the bond market],” a reporter reminded the president. “Have you talked to him about another type of intervention? Is that something he will be doing?”

Trump replied, “We have many types of intervention. That’s one. The ultimate intervention is our military, and if we have to use that, we will.”

    Trump is senile.

The bond market is a global digital market, much of which is in the USA and involves US citizens.
It is literally impossible to use the US military to intervene in the bond market.

He is confused here and has forgotten what Treasury bonds and the bond market actually are.

As someone noted on Bluesky a day or so ago, we are watching the collision of malignant narcissism with senile dementia.

This is only going to get worse and probably quite rapidly.

We’ve already got the expensive war with Iran that we have already lost and given up on.
The inflation gauge came in at 3.3.% this morning, which shows we are losing the war on inflation.
US Treasury bond interest rates are rising rapidly, which shows we are losing the war on high interest rates and this effects the entire economy such as house and auto loans.

So far, Trump and the GOP have wrecked Iran, parts of the Persian gulf Arab nations, the US economy, the White House, and the USA.
    Everything Trump touches dies.
What else are we going to lose next?

Yesterday I refreshed the YouTube subscription page and a video announcement of Dolly Parton’s death appeared. Maybe someday soon I’ll wake up to the radio saying, or refresh the subscription page, and encounter an announcement that the orange has ceased to exist. I’ve heard it suggested that the ceasing of orange would be the first time that the entire world celebrated (or at least commemorated) the ceasing of a specific person.
