I’m supposed to thank someone for Friday?

Today is my dull working day.

First up: I gotta go walk a kilometer or two. I’m not in physical therapy now, but I do have to keep up with some exercise.

Secondly, it’s a spider feeding day, and sheesh, but I have a lot of baby spiders who want their living, crawling meat.

Thirdly, I’ve got my Skepticon talk all outlined up in Keynote, with some of the images. Now I have to flesh everything out. The goal is to have it all done this weekend. Gone are the days when I would check into a hotel the night before and hack out the whole talk!

Is this my summer break? Could be worse, I guess.

Ahh fuck, it is Friday. Fridays are the worst. Almost time to go into work and melt my brain again. 105F and long hours are not fun. Maybe I get lucky and I’ll finish by midnight.

I love Friday because I can listen to this song. It can make anyone love Friday (mostly).

Well… There is something to be glad about on this Friday…

Steve Bannon was convicted on both counts of contempt of Congress. In theory, he could get 2 years in prison and a $200K fine. I suspect it will be more like the minimum of 30 days and a modest fine, if that. Schadenfreude comes in because the judge in the case was nominated by Trump.

You really like to play the axeman, don’t you, PZ? And that when even insects recognize each others’ faces, and feel pain?!

Let me add, after a few drinks, Friday, 22:48, that if we are not alone in the universe any invaders, necessarily more advanced than us, would be PZs, feeding us to whatever subjects they fancy to study.

Why should anyone be upset that many animals by necessity kill and eat other living creatures? Nature red in tooth and claw gives not one care for pain.

It’s possible that earth life would be poisonous to alien life forms, should any of them come visiting.

@8, Perhaps not exactly poisonous, but the Tripod-equipped Martians did encounter deadly Earth lifeforms which exterminated their invasion fleet (who weirdly invaded only Southern(?) England).

Hmmm, PZ, get a dog. I am now averaging walking 5km a day thanks to Oscar. Young fellows like you need more than a km or two.
