    Molnupiravir: First pill to treat Covid gets approval in UK
    Molnupiravir is a nucleoside analog that inhibits the viral RNA polymerase.

    Covid: Pfizer says antiviral pill 89% effective in high-risk cases
    Paxlovid is a protease inhibitor. Not actually approved yet, but they have applied for it.

    Both of these drugs are antivirals which work directly against the coronavirus, rather than working through the immune system. And since they target different enzymes there might be potential for synergy.
