The Itsy-Bitsy Spider, featuring the late Little Richard

Here we go, the best version of the classic children’s song ever. It’s got real spiders in it, and a piano with spider legs, and Little Richard inimitably hamming it up and having a grand time.

My granddaughter knows the song and can do the hand-motions, but I don’t know if she could handle all the dancing. We’ll have to practice.

Cool song and video. I wonder, though, if Pat Boone also ripped off covered this Little Richard song like he did others.

This is great, thanks! Little Richard and spiders, what more could anyone want? I think your granddaughter can keep up with the dance moves just fine.

Nathan Pyle’s “Strange Planet” did a cute take on this. I’d link, but you have to have an Insta account to view anything now, so here are the lyrics:
The small eight-legged creature ascends the liquid drain.
Then liquid flows! Its grip it can’t maintain!
The star makes the drain dry as it was before
And the small eight-legged creature ascends the drain once more.

Just got finished watching the Little Richard biography movie staring Leon . It’s on YouTube and it’s pretty good .

Richard’s life was tormented by the conflict between his religion and his sexuality. Thank you, christianity (sarcasm).

Great video-thanks. And a posthumous thanks to “Little Richard” Penniman, one of the greatest musical entertainers ever, and just a fun guy to watch. I still love that heavy beat of his band that almost compelled you to get up and dance. R.I.P.

Thanks for this link. I showed it to my wife and she included it on her blog as a school librarian for the preschool–6th grade school.
