@cervantes, # 1: I don’t quite get it either, but it’s hilarious.

Well, the shirts indicate Australia and New Zealand, and given the size of some Australian spiders…
Actually, following the link, according to the artist, apparently it actually is an Australian expression meaning ‘I’m not here to waste time’, submitted by an Australian after the previous comic had asked ‘what silly sayings do you have in your country?’

Doubtless related to “fuck the dog” or “screw the pooch”.
I enjoy SaW, but the comics often don’t work without the explanation beneath them.

cervantes @5: I’m pretty sure Caren is the spider with the pink bow.

I know a plot when I see one. This is just bait. The object is clearly to make me think that this is a real idiom, and then some day when I’m giving a speech to the Australian government, I’ll innocently say “I’m not here to fuck spiders!” And then, instead of the expected approving chuckles, there will be a horrible silence.
No thanks. Not playing.

The mildly deranged penguin says the explanation is obvious. It’s a test of the zebrafishy orchestral formation by Rainer Hersch (video (at about the 8:00 mark for the impatient)).

NZ has red stars on their flag where Australia has white stars. So they’re probably both Australians. Also we really need a new flag.

Yes, both Aussies. In SatWorld, NZ is “personified” by a sheep (and New South Wales is somehow the offspring of NZ and Wales). :D

Australian here. I have never, ever heard anyone use that expression.

Another Australian, I believe it’s origin is fairly recent, possibly twitter, and yet it is quintessential Australian idiom and while it hasn’t been used traditionally I believe there is a subset at least of the population that does use it now.

Okay, so who is Caren?
