We fetched our granddaughter Iliana from the airport today, and now we’re exhausted, and so is she. That might be understandable since we were up at 5:30am to drive to Minneapolis, and we just got home now at 7:30pm.
We have her for a week. May die.
But she’s so cute!
If it kills you, it will still be worth it. Being a grandparent is the best thing, like, ever!
Only Iliana?
Did anyone else travel with her?
I know she’s your grandkid but that would be seriously independant.
As near as I can figure out, young children are either fusion powered (to account for the energy output being way more than the simple chemical energy available from what they eat) or they have some means of transferring (draining) energy from the adults around them.
And then they start talking.
LOL And little girls seem to never stop talking!
Re: chigau @ #4…
As I tell new parents… You’ll spend three years working to get the kid to talk. And the next 15 trying to get the kid to shut up.
We’re just supposed to take your word for it?

No no , PZ posted a picture in an earlier blog spot. She is cute but very young. I worry about PZ trying to feed her spiders.
I’m no expert on infant behavior, but I’ve heard that they don’t necessarily want to eat what one feeds them. The hard part is keeping them from putting all the things you don’t want them to eat in their mouths. I’m guessing that was part of Mary’s thinking in the spider eviction.
