He lies about everything, no matter how trivial.
Despite his citrusy complexion and raccoon-like pale circles around his eyes — like the ones caused by goggles inside a tanning booth — the company line is that it’s all just “good genes,” a senior administration official told the New York Times.
He must think we’re idiots to believe that.
Unfortunately, he’s right about that, at least for 26% of the country.

I have never understood the desire to look tanned. Especially in pale skinned racists – why the heck would they want to look more like the dark skinned people they despise? While risking first or second degree burns over much of their bodies.
But I am one of those who burn before they are tanned, so maybe I am just jealous.

Good genes from the Oompa-loompas in his family history?
lumipuna says
If you need goggles to protect your eyes from spray tan, how about nose and mouth protection? Could that shade be actually a “natural” UV tan? Exceptional genes, indeed?
marcoli says
i believe it is out there that the skin tone of the Orange One is due to a spray-on tan, not from a tanning booth. Also there is now a report that when he is indoors in front of cameras the lights are kept rather low b/c regular room lights make he look like a total freak, and he has complained about that.
Is that weird? Of course not because it is the new normal.
Tabby Lavalamp says
Are those “good genes” recessive? I ask because none of his known children look like they’ve bathed in Tang.

With Donald’s money and Melania’s fashion instinct, Barron could’ve gotten some really great jeans.

Jealousy???
gijoel says
Apparently he insists on dimming the White house lights in order to make his ‘tan’ less noticeable.
microraptor says
Is he dimming the lights to make his tan less noticeable or just because he likes to surround himself with low-watt bulbs, if you know what I mean?
zetopan says
Nothing, including no one else in the white house is allowed to outshine the Donald. The sign of a TRUE psychopathic narcissist! To his supporters every severe Trump flaw is considered a feature.

@ 1Ed Seedhouse
It probably is a prestige or status thing.
Today, being well-tanned implies or is thought to show that you are rich enough and have the leisure time to lie around in the sun or spend your time on the tennis court rather than slaving over the grill in MacDonald’s
In the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries ladies in Eu rape went to great efforts to avoid getting a tan since only hoi polloi had tans from labouring in the fields.

Another typical sign of a sociopath. I just wish people would stop excusing Trumps behaviour as signs of old age or age related illness.

@12, I strongly suspect a combination.
He was guest of honor at a Chamber of Commerce function many years ago, the attrition was horrific for the following year.
He’s several stages lower now, lower energy, shorter memory and hence, major slips.
He was a POS then, he remains one now, but far less competent.\
Would that Pence grew a set of stones and used the 25th amendment!
Kip T.W. says
13 wzrd1, I don’t know that what we need now is a Trump with deep (and ugly) beliefs who talks better.
