Biology-related topics, if nobody brings up anything else:

1 ) Brood parasitism in honeyguides (or: Baby bird does WHAT?!?!?!‽)
(one of the more important links on the page is broken, so use :

2 ) Cellular mosaics via somatic mutations, by Carl Zimmer (I think you’ve blogged about mosaicism via differential gene activation (calico cats!) before, but it’s been a while)

3 ) How about this recent paper in Science about the lineage map of various embryos developing — including zebrafish.

5 ) Brian Switek dissects a bad palaeontological hypothesis

What caught my eye: ” Michael Frederick really is listed as a psychologist at the University of Baltimore, with Gordon Gallup, Jr. listed as an evolutionary psychologist at University of Albany. ” (emph mine)

(And shouldn’t Laelaps be in your blogroll somewhere?)

The original thing we weren’t allowed to talk about resembled an Aussie bush h *t that made you look like you were about to wrestle a croc. The recent thing that was not there was really stylish and made you look debonair. Try more varieties of those mystery noggin covers.

Crip Dyke was a wonderful guest. Looked as though you had to field some odd questions from the peanut gallery. I will need to rewatch as either the feed or my connectivity was wonky. Echoed and froze a bunch.
