It looks like the cuttlefish’s skin blends right into the eye. chromatophores and all. Are their eyeballs not discreet organs?
Read article last year that hypothesized that iris shape increases chromatic aberration. As such colour images are only in focus for one colour. As such eye can focus back and forth so that entire image is focused in short period of time using only one type of retinal cell type.
