Maybe this is a new species: the Frilled Giant Pacific Octopus, which is very similar to the unfrilled and familiar Giant Pacific Octopus.
Note the little bumps called papillae around the eyes — it’s an octopus with eyelashes.
I expect you all to party a little harder on Sunday night for the Frilled Giant Pacific Octopus.

I misread the name as “Fried Giant Pacific Octopus.” Doesn’t sound appetizing.

Its an octopus, it’ll damn well look like whatever it wants to.
I did wot Mark @3 did .And at first i thought the doc had started posting ideas for a nice snack for 8 people .
Having followed the link and getting a slightly bigger photo , noticed it has antlers .
Going to call him Rudolph .
