GE’s the world’s biggest death merchant (wasn’t it an uncanny coincidence how the Boston Globe and New York Times — the country’s two most liberal major dailies, both started cheerleading for more war at almost the exact moment GE bought them?), and Jack Welch was a horrible human being, but along with IBM and Westinghouse and Bell Labs and AT&T they were one of the most amazingly innovative corporations of the 20th century. Now they make most of their bucks off GE Finance. Ah, our decline and fall into banksterism.
