A few links of interest from around the web, writing on writing edition:
- An essay by Joanna Walsh in The Guardian arguing against writing prizes with age stipulations: “All the awards for young writers amount to discrimination“
- Also in The Guardian: “Book doulas: the new way to push your writing into the world.” Given that I find the book-as-baby metaphor is problematic at best, I’ll just say that while book doulas might be useful for some folks, the job title here just makes the problematic metaphor worse.
- And a podcast: the latest episode of the #amwriting podcast reminds us about the joys of indie bookstores.
