Stephen Colbert at Madame Tussauds

Some of the funniest segments on The Colbert Report are when he gets out of the studio and talks to regular people who do not quite know how to respond to his shtick of being arrogant, clueless, and socially inept.

In these two segments, he describes his experience of posing to become a waxwork at Madame Tussauds’ gallery and then visiting it later to see himself there.

Digital 3D printing would be simpler than all that measurement.

But wouldn’t you have to take a lot of measurements to tell the printer what to do?

    3D body scanner

A scan captures about 300,000 points on the body. The data can be viewed in numerous 3D formats.
