School district settles anti-gay discrimination case

Last month I wrote about an article in Rolling Stone in which students, their parents and other adults, and even teachers and administrators of the Anoka-Hannepin school district in Minnesota (which is represented by Michele Bachmann) either engaged in or failed to prevent the harassment of gay students, resulting in a rash of suicides.

The parents of some of those students sued the district and the district has settled and promised to put into place policies to prevent the harassment of gay students. The author of the original Rolling Stone story has a follow-up piece.

Good news indeed.
