Oppression against women is much more nasty, brutal and barbaric

Wonderful film but very mild. Just a little bit of assault in the street. No rape or gangrape, no domestic violence, no dowry murder, no bride burning, no sex trafficking, no sex slavery, no stoning to death, no burqa etc. We know very well that we who do not want patriarchal society, do not want matriarchal society either, we rather want equal society. This film is not about equal society, this is just to imagine how a man might experience a sexual assault in a matriarchal society. Everyone should have some reverse experience. How would you feel if it happened to you? Men always forget the golden rule, ‘one should treat others as one would like others to treat oneself.’

The film maker Eléonore Pourriat is now working on her next project – a mockumentary about the removal of pubic hair. I am waiting for that film. I hope that will be much more stronger.

This movie is presumably made to get (French) men to understand the problem and pervasiveness of sexism in their society. I think it’s rather strong, in that respect. Yes, of course there’s worse violence against women, but it is important to not forget the everyday sexism that begets this violence (at least in Western societies). I know that in your part of the world, there’s worse crimes committed against women, but especially the “there worse things in the world” attitude is what men and women alike use as an excuse to not be a feminist.

I couldn’t upload the film, but I do love the sound of it! Men have no idea how what they CHOOSE to do to women hurts us, and can ruin our precious lives. How could they be born by a woman and loathe us so much? Women give these vermin life, and these ungrateful bastards want to destroy it (and us). Men obviously don’t give a crap how we feel inside after being raped, assaulted, HAD ACID THROWN ON US, genitally mutilating us, emotionally and physically abusing us, etc. I could go on and on about the evil that men do. When will these bastards start taking responsibility for their barbaric actions and stop blaming us women?!

There’s a remote possibility that the comment left by “Jeanette” is sincere, but to me it reeks of being a fake. The tone, the language used, how things are phrased… it comes across so strongly as a Poe. If it is a Poe, then I wouldn’t describe the person who wrote the comment as ‘vermin.’ No human being is actually vermin. But the person calling himself/herself “Jeanette” would be sad, dishonest, and obtuse.

As for the film, some parts, such as the scene in the police station and the head covering for the meek day care worker, were pretty effective.

      ver•min
      [vur-min] Show IPA
      noun, plural ver•min.
      1. noxious, objectionable, or disgusting animals collectively, especially those of small size that appear commonly and are difficult to control, as flies, lice, bedbugs, cockroaches, mice, and rats.
      2. an objectionable or obnoxious person, or such persons collectively.

      From EK:

“No human being is actually vermin.”

Do you know English? Every language has words characterizing “objectionable obnoxious” persons as “vermin” or its equivalent. Humans have been doing this for thousands of years. Where have you been?

Jeanette’s characterization is mild, even generous, when applied to the murderous parasitical scum who only by an accident of biology can call themselves “human.”

If there were no concept of nonexistent god/religion, gender equality may have prevailed on earth.Primitive Human societies were more gender equal.Since evolution human lived naked, no sexual assult occurred then.Human dressed themselves only few thousand yrs back, rape started in modern human society.Should we embrace nudity ?

“Since evolution human lived naked, no sexual assult occurred then” – I’m sorry, but you really are wrong. As a counter-example to your claim, Yanomami men are known for cruelty against the women. As Wikipedia puts it:

“Women are often victims of physical abuse and anger. Inter-village warfare is common, but does not too commonly affect women. When Yanomami tribes fight and raid nearby tribes, women are often raped, beaten, and brought back to the shabono to be adopted into the captor’s community. Wives may be beaten frequently, so as to keep them docile and faithful to their husbands. Sexual jealousy causes much of the violence. Women are beaten with clubs, sticks, machetes, and other blunt or sharp objects. Burning with a branding stick occurs often, and symbolizes a male’s strength or dominance over his wife.”

The Yanomami are also known for walking around almost completely naked.

I hope that Prick day is celebrated every day. I could watch girls pissing, bare chest (not the flat ones shown in the movie but buxom). I would love girls taking me in their mouth.

    Dear Ms. Nasreen,

I may finally have to disagree with you. Truth is most men would love to be harassed by women in that way. As long as there was no violence, they would just love it. Most of them will even take up the catcalling woman on the offer to suck dick. Not all of them. But most of them. No lie, God Promise!
The reason men are so eager for sexual encounters and women are not is that it is women who are saddled with pregnancy. If you saddle the men with pregnancy, then suddenly the story changes. In that case, yes, men would not like being catcalled. It is pregnancy that is the deciding factor.
