There is a hell of a lot of women are as bad as men.
A Republican lawmaker Cathrynn Brown in New Mexico introduced a bill that would require victims of rape to carry their pregnancies to term in order to use the fetus as evidence for a sexual assault trial or face charges of “tampering with evidence.”
Under House Bill 206, if a woman ended her pregnancy after being raped, both she and her doctor would be charged with a felony punishable by up to 3 years in state prison: The bill says, “Tampering with evidence shall include procuring or facilitating an abortion, or compelling or coercing another to obtain an abortion, of a fetus that is the result of criminal sexual penetration or incest with the intent to destroy evidence of the crime.”
Cathrynn Brown should know that a DNA paternity test can be done as early as the end of the first trimester of pregnancy. No woman needs to carry her pregnancy to term for it.
New Mexico Gov. Susana Martinez advanced a proposal to require women who become pregnant from rape to prove they were forcibly raped in order to qualify for childcare assistance.
Some say, “it establishes in state law a narrow definition of rape. It puts a heavy burden on women who have been raped and are now struggling economically to support a child.” Another opinion is, “it would force women who have left violent domestic partnerships, who were date-raped, who were impregnated as a result of incest, or through other “non-forcible” but nonetheless equally violent and denigrating means of sexual violation to first re-engage with their abusers to seek child support, putting control of their lives back into the hands of someone by whom they were violated in the most profound sense of the term.”
Congressman Marsha Blackburn (TN-7) has introduced the Title X Abortion Provider Prohibition Act (H.R. 61) which would stop the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) from providing federal family planning assistance to abortion businesses until they certify they won’t provide and refer for abortions. She said, “As a woman, I believe America deserves better than abortion. America shouldn’t celebrate abortion and our taxpayers shouldn’t subsidize abortion businesses like Planned Parenthood, who profit from the destruction of human life with taxpayer money. It’s fiscally irresponsible and morally indefensible.” The bill would “prohibit family planning grants from being awarded to any entity that performs abortions.”
What a pathetic anti-choice freak!
These women do not believe in women’s human rights. Seriously, as a woman I am ashamed of these women!

Fuck! The worst part of having women advocating their own oppression is that they can easily be pointed by MRAs during discussion to “legitimize” their point.

Stupidity and ignorance knows no gender… sad to see this kind of thing from any human being.

The proposed legislation mentioned in the blog post are all absolutely disgusting breaches of civility, common sense and the rights of women. I am disgusted by the fact that any human in the US (especially women) can hold that these proposed laws are in any sense just.

THESE CREATURES ARE BEARERS OF PATRIARCHY…. NO DOUBT MEN WHO LIKE TO TAKE PLEASURE BY OPPRESSING WOMEN WOULD BE DELIGHTED FOR THE MEASURES CREATED BY THESE honourable Women…. what do these women want???? a pat of praise on their back????? patriarchy is greatly perpetuated by this kind of people irrespective male and female….

Why in the world do these women feels this way. Surely, they were raised in the same patriarchal, oppressive society as other women in the US. I’m sure they have had their fair share of abuse. Would they want to be raped? Are they just plain stupid. Maybe they just say that stuff to stay in political office in their conservative jurisdictions. Anybody else have any idea why these idiots hate other women?
Gregory in Seattle says
I hope none of these women have to deal with the trauma of rape and a resulting pregancy in the world they are trying hard to create.
@deera #8 – At a guess, it is because the conservative Republican worldview is “I wouldn’t, so no one else should be allowed to.”

That abortion is wrong is a legitimate view. I don’t AGREE with it, not at all, but to pretend like there is no case to be made against abortion is absurd.
I am very very very much pro-choice, but that doesn’t mean I have to call people who disagree with me “freaks” (which is rather ableist of you).
Pro-choice rests on the moral foundation of [woman’s right to bodily autonomy] > [potential future human life]. I TOTALLY agree with that moral statement, but I don’t pretend like it is the only view on the matter.
And PLEASE, Taslima: Some women are as bad as SOME men. Not all men are bad.

All of these women should be disparaged by giving them the name “Serena Joy”, from The Handmaid’s Tale.

Republicans are a bunch of morons. They are pathogenic insane, literally !

I wonder to what extent these women have internalized various rape myths – it is possible, even in this day to find women who do, probably just as a result of early brainwashing and a lot of group pressure to believe. Otherwise, they’re clearly ignorant of basic biology in terms of prenatal testing for paternity, but like typical American conservatives, can’t be bothered to actually consult someone who might know something on the issue.

This is a COMPLETE misrepresentation of the truth!! If you were honest you would tell all the facts! This ‘bill’ by Rep.Brown was leaked by a democrat operative PRIOR to introduction! The two legislative bill writers (also democrats) made a mistake in the original intent and have publicly APOLOGIZED to Rep.Brown for THEIR mistake in writing the bill! If you need to be dishonest to back your position then there is somthing wrong! FYI, YOU are the ‘anti-choice’ party, you are against ANY women that CHOSE to not kill their babies. I would submit that YOUR support of killing future ‘women’ is the real ‘war on women’!!
