OT. Sad news. Quincey Jones R.I.P.
He was 91 years old, and had certainly made good use of that time.
Now I hope there will be the right kind of election result to cheer me up.

The Marsh Family from England are doing their best to support Harris with a song parody of “Give me hope Joanna” from Eddie Grant. 4.5-minute watch, highly entertaining: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=se-didBGn8A&t=260s

Strange that abortion access didn’t make the list; seems like a biggun.

Depending on the nature of ‘sexual assault’ it did make the list.

Holms@4- Especially in light of the death of the pregnant woman in Texas a few days ago. They are coming for contraception too, not to mention looking to give power to RFK, Jr. and the other scientific illiterates and snake oil salespeople.

USA would have to go pretty far back in history to find a political entity [within shot of the presidency] with such a toxic stew of policies and horrible people.
.
There has been plenty of corrupt and/or incompetent politicians but for sheer venom you might have to go back to the era of the Klan and the abolishment of the rights Black people briefly had won.
Also, the period under McKinley when USA invaded and annexed everything from the Philippines to Puerto Rico.

Sorry, but I don’t accept that reasoning. I invite you to imagine race / sexuality / gender identity had been left off. Someone points this out, and someone else responds with ‘depending on the region of the unsafe water, it did make the list’… that would come off as a cop out, right?
If we were to take that as a mention of any given characteristic, then why bother with multiple lines with specific mentions?
Anyway it is not a big deal as this is just a single jpeg of many during an election frenzy, but the omission leapt out given the “Stories that make me want to throw things” post.

It’s a list of examples, ones which most people understand what they mean. A fairly comprehensive list would be too long, evoking TL;DR, and would also contain a lot of things which would sound baffling to anyone who doesn’t know what they’re referring to. Not everyone pays a lot of attention to the news, knows a lot about minority or identity or rights issues, or is familiar with left-wing political issues.
Of course there are going to be people who react to some of these in ridiculous ways, like “vote as if you were non-white” as “vote as if you were a person who possessed negative stereotypical traits of [minority you hate]” and be offended, but it’s not like those people weren’t hopeless anyway.

That “T” in “vote” is a seriously weird depiction of female reproductive organs. What’s with the flowers growing outside the vagina and the flower in the center of the uterus that looks more like an eye? I guess maybe that’s the nod to abortion Holms was looking for, but I’m afraid the symbolism is over my head.

Like in many states, my state had a measure on the ballot to (paraphrasing) ensure women can seek medical care without having any member of the gov’t weighing in. Sounds simple, right? When’s the last time you heard a story about a man whose appendix burst and was denied health care because “you’re not nearly dead yet and the doctor doesn’t want to go to jail for helping you.”?
What were the scare posters at the polling place? To vote “no” on the measure because it allows elementary school staff to perform sex-change operations on the children without notifying the parents. I am a parent of two children and I’m here to tell you that you can’t get school staff to give a child a bandage if they skin their knee in gym class. I was called out of work to come down to the school with my own first aid kit to clean and bandage any injuries.
But that’s the Big Bad the lying liars are telling to their base to deny access to life-saving health care to women. And worse, they’re telling those lies because their base are stupid enough to believe it.
