When I see even more killings by police of people, this cartoon that appeared as far back as June 22 keeps coming to my mind. The police really do not seem to think that maybe, just maybe, they should dial back the violence a little. They and Trump act as if they want to inflame the situation.
We are going through a period of great cognitive dissonance.

Huh, Inspired Guy must be the very model of gun safety by virtue of at least keeping his finger off the trigger. I’m not sure if that fits the character. The public’s best hope then is that he shoots himself in the leg, foot or other body parts with a holstered pistol. A rare case in which an accident would actually improve public safety.
