I have no idea if having celebrity support helps or hurts a candidate but this amusing ad tries to have it both ways, by encouraging people to register and vote against Donald Trump and at the same time mocking the whole idea that celebrities have any influence on what people do.

Susan Sarandon doesn’t appear. The people I recognized are Downey, Don Cheadle, Neil Patrick Harris, Mark Ruffalo, Scarlett Johansson, Julianne Moore (who has a vague resemblance to Sarandon), Keegan-Michael Key, Stanley Tucci, and Martin Sheen.

They seem to be primarily actors who have worked with Joss Whedon.
The guy that talked about not being as famous (Tom Lenk) was a character in Buffy the Vampire Slayer. There was recurring joke where people didn’t know who he was until he or someone else said “Tucker’s brother”, who everyone apparently knew.
