Don’t know know, it’s totally different when we invade Panama, because we’ve got a vested interest in Panama. And the Russians don’t have a vested interest in Crimea -- they have a greatcoated interest. Or something totally like that.
I mean it’s not like we annexed Haiti. Because, frankly, Haiti’s worthless. But we did annex New Mexico and California and Puerto Rico but they were worth having as parts of our empire. Oh, oops, did I say “empire”?! *giggle* silly me, must be the wine.

(Joking aside, if I was Putin, I’d offer the people of Crimea $10 billion rubles. That’d put the who “sovreignty” thing into a tailspin. Especially because the rest of Ukraine would might ask “how much for us?”)
