In a comment on my review of Skyfall, Daniel Schealler introduced me to the ‘Honest Trailers’ series, where people create their own trailers poking fun at the film. Of course, it is funnier if you have seen the film and I particularly liked this one.
“An all-powerful ring which does nothing but turn you into an invisible crack-addict.”
Thanks for this Mano.
“Gwyneth Paltrow”! Only funny line here. And sure, the good guys had eagles, Ents, and ghost armies; But the bad guys had oliphants, trolls, and artifically gestated Uruk-Hai.
Try this: Provide a synopsis of a Popular Movie by using as few words as possible.
My synopsis of The Lord of the Rings would be: The Lord of the Rings -- “Returning Faulty Jewelry”
At about 3:30:
I really expected the next words to be “Just like Jesus”, but somehow they omitted the obvious analogy.
I love LOTR, but this was hilarious.
I enjoy most those parodies that I am familiar with, which usually (though not always) means that I liked the original source.
I would not be surprised if, as long as one doesn’t take the source too seriously, the more one loves the source material, the funnier one finds the parody. (Also, if the parody does a good job sending up acknowledged flaws in the source material, all the better.)
Great. Now I have to mop up my keyboard. Again.
That was more hilarious than HISHE’s version.
