Those weird scientists and their crazy names

Mark Isaak has put together a list of Curiosities of Biological Nomenclature — all those strange names people have given to species and molecules.

Of Pandas and People isn’t green!

But you should still watch this retelling of the ID saga, as it would be written by Dr Seuss.

    Nice new logo

So that’s what the DI has been up to their “Biologic Institute”.

So many controversies, so little time in the classroom

Let’s all advocate teaching the controversy…by wearing the t-shirt!

But he’s got the label and arrow wrong!

Something is wrong on the internet.

    i-58a2fb4177ddf1f253f768e0533a19ee-purity.jpg

It should be “complexity”, not “purity”, and the arrow should point to the left. And obviously it should be arranged so that the biologist is on top — the others don’t have a cephalopod.

    It’s about time!

At last, military forces around the world have coordinated to take out a tyrannical dictator: we’ve invaded heaven. The dishonest leader of that country, with his scourges and plagues and cataclysms and arbitrary executions, has been deposed.

The denouement was a bit predictable, however.
