That started 3 or 4 weeks ago when I started seeing Halloween decorations in the stores.
My favorites this year are the skeleton mermaids and the skeleton octopi (or octopuses).
Because, why do molluscan invertebrates need a skeleton anyway?
Welp, at least its not thinking about Xmas and the suppsoed “war” thereupon quite yet..

I wonder if the voice actor for the spider is the same one who does the voice for the buffalo in Buffalo Wild Wings commercials because it sounds very similar.
Not even (Canadian) Thanksgiving yet, and the Halloween decorations are out in the stores (IMO, the end of the previous holiday should be the earliest allowed start date for marketing the next one).
Canadian Tire has a home decor store brand called “For Living”. Guess what the Halloween skeletons are labelled as? Gives me a chuckle every year.

Traditionally, it was All Hallows’ Eve.
Very much a Christian event, being the vigil preceding All Saints’ Day (All Hallows’ Day) on November 1.
A liturgically-focused event focused on prayer and dread, not a carnival.
Zero to do with ‘“Satanism! “Idolatry!” “Demons!”’ and everything to do the vigil of All Hallows (31 October), to commemorate the dead, and to pray to/for saints, martyrs, and the souls of those trapped in Purgatory.

The fundie xian War on Halloween.
Fundies don’t have holidays.
They have Wars on holidays.
In my local school district, a few fundie xians managed to block the schools from having any sort of Halloween parties. The school district said OK, no Pagan Holidays.
And BTW, No xian holidays either.
They also blocked any sort of Xmas parties as well.
The fundies were outraged but the law was against them.
They have a generic harvest party and a generic year end party instead.
