They posted a similar, though much briefer rant yesterday on an anime forum I hang out at (I immediately recognized the “child STAINS, died biology” bit, though oddly they never mentioned Frieren. At least they’re not sending you copy-pasted spam, but rather seem to be writing their stream of consciousness output one screed at a time as the spirit moves them. Still, it reminds me of Dr. Bonner’s ALL ONE! sermons, if less coherent.

I do recommend the series though. It’s a poignant meditation on treasuring the fleeting time you have with people you care about, leavened with quiet humor, action and magic. :)

Ridana@12 it sounds like this guy wouldn’t like the Chinese series I’m currently watching on YouTube, I Am Nobody. It revolves around Chinese university student Zhang Chulan, who finds himself drawn into the world of Outsiders, people who can develop superpowers, when the body of his grandfather is stolen. He’s joined by Feng Baobao, a strange young woman who works for the group that polices the behaviour of the Outsiders, disguised as a courier company.. Without spoilering things too much for anyone who might watch it we eventually learn Feng Baobao is older than she looks.
It feels quite a bit like some of the entries in the Japanese Kamen Rider franchise, like Kamen Rider Fourze. Like a lot of sci fi/fantasy stuff set in the current era if you push at the world building too much you start to ask questions about why their world would be so much like ours.
