Burnt monkey testicles?

I can’t keep up with the trail of poop-nuggets JD Vance leaves behind him. The latest is one that I don’t have to issue with a disclaimer — he really is this bad this time.

An article by Rolling Stone, dated October 25, 2022, has exposed allegations of animal cruelty linked to a company financed by JD Vance’s venture capital firm, Narya.

Wait — the reminder that Vance is a venture capitalist isn’t the horrifying revelation?

The report claims that AmplifyBio, which received funding from Vance’s firm, carried out severe experiments on live animals, including monkeys and dogs.
These revelations have ignited a firestorm of outrage and heightened scrutiny regarding JD Vance’s suitability for high office. Rolling Stone’s investigation uncovered troubling details about AmplifyBio’s testing practices, revealing that many animals suffered and died due to toxic testing exposures and harsh conditions. Particularly shocking were reports of “dreadful mistakes,” including a lab monkey that died after becoming trapped in faulty equipment and technician errors causing severe burns to other monkeys’ genitals, TOI reported.

We seem to have moved out of the comical phony exposé phase of the attack to dragging him for the things he actually does and says. He’s a Sideshow Bob surrounded by rakes.

I blame the childless cat ladies.

“Died after becoming trapped in faulty equipment.”

I’m pretty sure that’s how your obituary reads if you die in a couch-fucking incident.

I’m expecting to hear Rep. Greene give JD a good grilling over this given her concern about animal testing that she expressed to Dr. Fauci. Oddly, there’s not a single story about her position on this. All I see is how much she supports JD, and he supports her. She’s had plenty of time to respond.

Another techbro torturing animals for “research.” Where have we heard this before?

  4. John Morales says

Walter, you imagine he’s out there personally torturing animals?

(Do you know how venture capitalism works?)

  5. vereverum says

Actually, the far right doesn’t give a fig about monkeys.
If you want to get their attention, talk about dogs and horses.

Yet another bunch of techbros mucking about in businesses they know absolutely nothing about, and making yet another disgraceful, unnecessary, wasteful mess of everything they touch while pretending to be infallible boy-geniuses. If nothing else, this latest round of incompetent cruelty should be taken as yet more evidence disproving all that glibertarian hero-worship of capitalists as paragons of rational decision-making. This religion is nothing more than a cruel, disgraceful, OLD joke.

Raging Bee, what, you too, even after my #4?

    Righto. This should amuse.

I hereby put you to the test.

Walter Arbee, you imagine he’s out there personally torturing animals?

(Do you know how venture capitalism works?)

    Oh, wait.

Yet another bunch of techbros mucking about in businesses they know absolutely nothing about

    Apparently not.

Do you even get they merely seek profit?

(So clueless! So hard to model, thereby)

    [meta]

    (so clueless!)

You’ll blame them even more when you hear them laughing at Vance.

    Blaming is a thing.

Blaming more, blaming less, it’s the same.

    It’s blaming.

Your grasp of basic conceptual semantics is… well, the opposite of competent, Arbee.

Raging Bee, what, you too, even after my #4?

“Me too” what, John? Seriously, is there ANY point to your last two comments?

Maybe he could be America’s answer to Carl of Swindon. A political candidate so bad that he destroys the party he’s standing for. Fingers crossed.

“Me too” what, John? Seriously, is there ANY point to your last two comments?

Yeah. You merely did not get it.

The featured person is only one person, and didn’t do any animal torturing, and is not mucking about in businesses they know absolutely nothing about. The business being venture capitalism, not animal torture.

If a venture capitalist is doing his thing in lines of business of which he knows nothing, and investing in badly-run companies, then yes, he — and the people running the companies he’s investing in — are indeed mucking about in businesses they know absolutely nothing about. (Notice my use of the plural? I’m not just talking about one VC.) And if we give them credit when their investments succeed, then we should also give them blame, and shame, when said investments turn out to be despicable money-pits or outright frauds.

So, you think that’s a recipe for long-term success?

    (Any sort of success?)

More to the point, the VCs don’t typically run the businesses they invest in.

Now, it may well be that the business is a shit business and that its management is clueless about their business; whether VCs typically lend such people $money$ is left to speculation.

    Right?
His business was being a venture capitalist, which means investing in businesses.

(Been doing it since 2017, so it would probably be noticeable by now if he was no good at it)

Is it not obvious to you that this post is bashing him via insinuation?

(Notice my use of the plural? I’m not just talking about one VC.)

If a venture capitalist is doing his thing

What I notice is that’s neither a plural, nor gender-neutral.

Is there ever any point to his comments?

Walter, you imagine he’s out there personally torturing animals?

    Yes, that’s exactly what I’m imagining. 🙄
