Ariel Elias, a comedian who was doing a comedy set in front of a few MAGA rednecks who didn’t like what she was saying and threw a whole can of beer with great force at her. She scooped it up and drank it while mocking them. I was impressed.

It’s got to be tough to be doing comedy in a bar attended by deplorables. I did notice, though, that when she called for support, the overwhelming majority of the crowd cheered in her favor — the few MAGAts must be feeling isolated and alone, which is good.
Also good: the beer-flinger is being prosecuted for his actions.

Had a good laugh at the line about being able to tell that the heckler is a MAGAt by the fact that she kept talking when nobody wanted her to.
I hope the beer thrower is being prosecuted for wasting beer.

I was at the pier (Point Arena, CA) the other day, talking to my fisherman friend who was filleting a fish for a couple of customers. One man invited us to his local church. When we respectively (and respectfully) declined, and I said I didn’t go to church any more, for some unexplicable reason one of them turned the topic to politics. (You know where this leads).
At least they remained friendly and invited us to get to know their friend, Jesus, as they left.

It’s worth pointing out that Ariel wasn’t doing political comedy. This person just asked that randomly to make it political. Conservatives have to go out of their way to make themselves victims, to justify their violence.
Om the other hand, in genuinely repressive countries like Russia, China or Saudi Arabia just about anything can become political.
But the MAGA crowd would probably be cool with Putin, et al.

Everything is political in the US now. It doesnt really matter what the topic is. Her bit could’ve bern about life in New York and it would be considered political by someone.

birgerjohansson @11: The MAGA crowd thinks that it would be cool to live under Putin because they don’t believe that he’d have them drafted and forced to stand in an empty, rainy field with no food and no equipment before they were shipped off to Ukraine with no training or weapons.
In a similar situation, it would have taken me at least half an hour to come up with something at most half as funny. Kudos.
