Spider-bot, Spider-bot
Does whatever a spider ought
Webs of steel, any size
Zap you with laser eyes
Look out!

How provincial. I’d pick something that flies. Between stars. For one thing, I’d have all the time in the world to get anywhere, and for another, I’d really like to get away from all the twenty-foot spiders crawling all over the place.
Why stop at 6 or 8 legs? How pedestrian! Don’t settle for anything less than a centi bot with deca wing and mega rocket capacity. Possibly some hyper space too.

How about going for the shape-shifting nanite swarm? No need to pick just one body plan when you can be all of them.

Four legs good, six legs better.

I figured you’d rather a squid bot. Maybe a squider bot.

Nice, but does it have the Three Laws?
Mmmm, I’m getting a woody over the mating dance at 2:14.
I used to read a LOT about BEAM robots back in the day. I’m wondering if BEAM techniques could work with something like this…
