Hee. That is one fabulous portrait, and by the looks of it, one fabulous mood!
Nice work, Ronnie Tucker!

Poor Cuba – there is a BandAid covering it’s wounds. You should be ashamed for such abuse, PZ!

Originally careen meant to tilt a ship on its side by beaching it so repairs could be made to the hull. Career was the word that referred to moving rapidly and erratically. Languages evolve.
Nowadays you have to be kind of pedantic to use career in this case and even moreso to comment on it.
We live on a placid island of ignorance in the midst of black seas of infinity, and it was not meant that we should hippity-hop far.

So now we can officially call you a Great Old One ? :)

Three possibilities, as I see it:
1. PZ eventually genetically modifies himself. This is the proof of concept before moving onto more sweeping alterations.
2. PZ’s true ancestry is star-spawn. When his second adolescence finally asserts itself, this is what we can expect the early stages to look like.
3. PZ gets a cold on his birthday.

That bandage is actually on the exobase, not the Earth’s surface, covering the hole where PZ pumped out the overabundance of greenhouse gasses. I speculate that this is why he’s so happy.

Look at PZ’s left foot and where it’s resting. Tunguska has been explained! Where’s my Nobel?
I’m with comments 17 and 18. So much awesomeness! ^_^

Three things come to mind:
1 I agree-where the Hel did Florida go?
2 Print up a batch of these and sell them for charity at the next event you attend.
3 Since when did you gain Simpson DNA PZ? (count the fingers…)
Thanks for the giggle on what’s been a world-class shit day for me.
Now I see why the ice in the Arctic is melting.
Drawn from life, obviously.
I’d love to speculate why you’re so jubilant, but my lawyer has advised me to stay silent. ;)
Ah, ha! Now we know the real reason for the beard; you’re hoping for a little mutation-to-tentacle action, aren’t you? :)
PZ, you’ve got to become more active. You’re like a sloth, moving so slowly that algae is growing on your
furbeard.I learned about the algae from zefrank’s True Facts About the Sloth.
yay?
May I quote you on that, hjhornbeck, or just convey the sense of your comment?

That needs to be a poster, man.
I want one!
@ 15 puts my whole career in perspective, etymologically speaking.
Maybe PZ just read Ian Murphy’s interview of Michael Shermer. I haven’t laughed so much in a while.

You may, however I also pay my lawyers to scan the web on my behalf , in order to gather up evidence of how big an asshole I am.

Too far west and south to be Tunguska. About the right place for Chelyabinsk, though.
My gods, man, do you even OWN a handkerchief? Here, Borrow mine…
I guess that explains all that methane in the atmosphere.
