The promo video for Kate Bush’s Experiment IV kills off Hugh Laurie and Dawn French. Pretty good going, really.

Noah’s Ark film a frisky business

    John Harlow, Los Angeles
    October 16, 2006
A FRISKY lion, a curious buffalo and a flock of irritable penguins have helped turn the production of a modestly budgeted family film into the most nightmarishly expensive comedy in Hollywood history.
    .
Evan Almighty, the sequel to the 2003 Jim Carrey hit Bruce Almighty, has run way over budget as film executives ignored the dictum about never working with children or – more riskily – animals.
    .
To complicate matters, the filming of the lighthearted story about a politician ordered by God to rebuild Noah’s Ark was delayed by torrential rains.

The Iowa Republican Party’s official platform characterizes its pro-theocracy position as, “We believe the displaying of the Ten Commandments, the American Flag and the recitation of the Pledge of Allegiance should be allowed.” I suppose this is one way to define “allowed.”

Until House, he was always known for that kind of role.
I liked him in Jeeves and Wooster. In the opening moments of the first episode he does sort of an homage to Stan Laurel.

To me it just seems to be an outtake from season 3 of the Black Adder. Of course, it needs Edmund and Baldric to be complete.

I’ll always think of Hugh Laurie fondly as clueless prince George. “You look just like a man who thought a cat had done its business on his pie, but it turned out to be an extra-large blackberry!” Hurrah!

Great song, brilliant video, from Diva (1992), where all the videos were shot using the colours red, white or blue (IIRC). And of course both Malcovich and Laurie were there not just because they’re gorgeous and brilliant, but because of their associations with Blackadder III (1987) and Dangerous Liaisons (1988).

Not having visited this blog in a while, I typed in what I thought would be the right URL: pharyngula.blogspot.com

What I found there was a scurvy theocratic hit blog “exposing” PZ Myers. I read it for about ten seconds.

Do Christian students have a prayer in the classroom?

    BY LUCAS KWONG

My decision to continue believing in a living God–despite Nietzsche’s pronouncements to the contrary–was largely due to the efforts of a faith community which, after an era of marginalization by the secular establishment, is exploding on Ivy League campuses. Moreover, Yale appears to be leading the pack with respect to this trend. According to statistics cited by the Christian Post, an online Christian news outlet, membership in fellowships such as Campus Crusade for Christ has, over the past 20 years, increased by 163 percent at Brown, 500 percent at Harvard–and 700 percent at Yale.

No mention of biology or evolution.

Zeno, as I recall, those black beauty marks were for covering up evidence of syphilis, so you’ll forgive me, I hope, if I don’t look forward to their return.

I don’t think that Jason’s site has a virus, he doesn’t seem tech savvy at all. Paranoid and self righteous yes, able to do something with a virus no.
