Video: How The Good Place Redefines the Sitcom

I’ve bee having a gloomy sort of day, for various reasons, and I don’t have much of anything to post, so here’s this instead. It’s a nice overview of one of the best shows I’ve ever watched, and a look into at least part of why it’s so good. Watching this won’t spoil the show for you in any meaningful capacity, and obviously I highly recommend that if you haven’t seen The Good Place, you should change that.

I loved that show. I was introduced to it by a friend who kept recommending it. Sadly, she did not live to see how it turned out.

For even more goodness, there was a per-episode podcast hosted by actor Marc Evan Jackson, who played “Shawn”. Each episode would talk about the show’s episode, plus interview someone involved with the making of the show: writers, directors, actors, camera folks, costumers, even the wild-animal wranglers. At the end, Jackson would ask “What’s good?”, and give the interviewee a chance to reflect on what’s good in their lives, or a charity they support, etc.
