Warning to anyone clickin’ on @1’s link – It may be parody-ish but it’s still a pretty disgusting listen. If you’re one of the people I’ve seen talking suicide and ruin, give it a pass. If this is all a bitter joke to you, give it a go. As for me, I have no ass to laugh off and no laughs if I did.
Explanation of #1 link: Mitch Benn is a British comedian and solidly left-wing satirist who wrote funny songs for the BBC’s Friday night topical radio programme “The Now Show”. The song on the other end of that link was written in response to George W. Bush winning a second term with an increased share of the vote in 2003. It’s called “This Ain’t Your Country Any More”. At the time, it was funny. I agree it’s not funny any more, but I think it’s scary how accurately it reflects the message America has sent to itself today.
I kinda half remember it from back then. If I didn’t think it was a lefty satire, I would’ve just deleted it. Different progressive types can have different ways of dealing with stuff and I’ll take that. Conservatives of any stripe can get the fuck out my cut, though.
