I have long been and still am an Industrial fan but never gravitated to LwTKK, can’t explain why. Maybe I should have if this is typical of their work.

The best fan video I’ve seen is one you’ve probably seen before, done for Rush’s “Malignant Narcissism”. The maker is Bobby Standridge, an atheist who (oddly) works for Fox Nuisance Sports, doing their animations.

The higher quality original version of the video is blocked here in Taiwan, so I don’t know if you can see it.

I like the references to Charles Darwin and Rush’s song, “The Trees” (and the “axes of good”). You’ll notice, however, that those aren’t trees….

And while it’s nothing more than a collection of pictures, the fan made video for Shonen Knife’s “I Am A Cat” is just too cute not to include.

I have a feeling if I look at a Rush video one time I’ll start getting recommendations in sidebars that I don’t wanna see. Not my cuppa. I got to see latter day Shonen Knife in Seattle a few years back, the lil’ ol’ surviving original member plus some young ladies – all awesome performers. They did a rad job and finished the show with a big Ramones set. So good and wholesome.

As for TKK, they are obnoxious and tacky and absurd. You don’t have to defend disliking them, even moreso than saying you’re not into Frank Zappa or The Butthole Surfers. They’re like a parody of the idea of what edgy swingers are like, and depending on the kind of person you are, it’s rockin’ orgy music, a hilarious joke, or something that you just ain’t into. No need to justify any given way.

I just love when people take that old school drug war propaganda and using it for laffs. Plus I think the group is silly fun.
